1.- BACKGROUND
In accordance with Spanish regulations governing the use of cookies in relation to the provision of electronic communications services, as set out in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, we inform you about the cookies used on the MANUEL SAMPER, S.L.U. website and the reason for their use.
2.- WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user´s or their device´s browsing habits, and depending on the information they contain and how you use your device, they can be used to recognize the user. Cookies are associated only with an anonymous user and their computer or device and do not provide references that would allow access to personal data.
3.- TYPES OF COOKIES
3.1.- Based on the entity that manages them
a.- First-party cookies: These are cookies sent to the user´s terminal device from a device or domain managed by the publisher and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
b.- Third-party cookies: These are cookies sent to the user´s terminal device from a device or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
3.2.- Based on their purpose
There are many purposes for the use of cookies. Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained through cookies is processed, some of the purposes may include:
a) Technical cookies: These are cookies that allow the user to browse through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services available, including those that the publisher uses to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in an order, processing an order, managing payment, controlling fraud related to service security, processing registration or participation requests in an event, counting visits for billing software licenses for the service (website, platform, or application), using security elements during browsing, storing content for video or sound dissemination, enabling dynamic content (e.g., text or image loading animations), or sharing content via social networks.
Technical cookies are exempt from the obligations set forth in Article 22.2 of the LSSI when they are used to provide the service requested by the user, as in the case of the cookies listed above. However, if these cookies are also used for non-exempt purposes (e.g., for behavioral advertising), they will be subject to those obligations.
b) Preference or personalization cookies: These are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain features that may differentiate their experience from other users, such as language, the number of search results displayed, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service, or the region from which the service is accessed.
If the user selects these features themselves (for example, by selecting the language of a website by clicking on the corresponding country flag icon), the cookies are exempt from the obligations of Article 22.2 of the LSSI as they are considered a service expressly requested by the user, provided the cookies are used exclusively for the selected purpose.
c) Analytics or measurement cookies: These are cookies that allow the entity responsible for them to monitor and analyze the behavior of users of websites to which they are linked, including the quantification of ad impressions. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure website, application, or platform activity in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of usage data by users of the service.
d) Behavioral advertising cookies: These are cookies that store information on users´ behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
3.3.- Based on the duration of time they remain active
a) Session cookies: These are cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information that only needs to be kept for the provision of the service requested by the user during a single session (for example, a list of purchased products) and disappear at the end of the session.
b) Persistent cookies: These are cookies where the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
